SQUIRELL FLOWER 'FULL TIME JOB' AND 'WHEN A PLANET IS DYING'

Chicago musician Ella Williams, who performs as Squirrel Flower, has announced the new album Tomorrow’s Fire, and dropped double singles 'Full Time Job' and 'When A Planet Is Dying'. The album marks a change of direction for Williams, recruiting a studio band made up of members of Wednesday, Bon Iver, Angel Olsen and The War On Drugs and departing from the gentler indie folk of previous album Planet. The two new singles embrace a fuzzed out, guitar-heavy, more unabashedly loud, rock sound, inspired by artists like Bruce Springsteen and Jason Molina. Of the album and the landscapes that inspired its move vast and epic sound Williams states: Every time I go [to the Indiana Dunes], it changes my life. You stand in the marshlands and to your left is a steel factory belching fire and to your right is a nuclear power plant. The songs I write are not always autobiographical, but they’re always true.Tomorrow’s Fire will be out on the 13th of October via Polyvinyl/Full Time Hobby.- Toby Evans-Jesra
